Challenge
APER, the association for eco-responsible boating, was founded in 2009 to help boat owners dispose of their end-of-life vessels responsibly. Legislative changes later mandated increased support for waste management efforts, leading to increased funding for this association.
In 2018, APER aimed to become the industry’s official eco-organization and began developing a new IT system. However, the rushed implementation of the system led to operational challenges in the following years.
In 2023, APER asked Making You Smile to audit and revamp the system with the goal of improving integration with other applications.
Solution
Our solution was carefully crafted to provide users with a stress-free experience, featuring a streamlined design that reduces complexity for all types of users. With a clear and intuitive interface, users can effortlessly navigate through procedures step by step, which improves efficiency and productivity.
One of our greatest achievements was in simplifying the handling of historical data. By meticulously retrieving and interpreting past information, our solution enables users to tackle a wide range of complex scenarios with ease. From managing inheritances to handling mandates given to professionals, and even dealing with boats with unclear ownership or missing documentation, APER’s system is designed to streamline processes and deliver peace of mind.
This enhancement in user experience around the digital platforms contributes to improving the brand perception, both internally and externally.
Exploration
As with all our digital projects, we designed all the screens using Figma, and created an efficient, minimalist design system in the eco-organization’s colors.
